Narrative Essay

My Worst Fears
I wake up in the morning and go for a walk. As I’m walking a man runs up to me and tells me it’s time for me to give my speech. Before I know what’s happening, he’s taken me to a huge room filled with hundreds of people. He takes me to the stage and leaves me. I stand up there, scared, with no idea what I’m supposed to talk about. Everyone in the audience is staring at me, judging me. I start to talk, but soon realize I’m not making any sense. My cheeks turn bright red as I stand there in humiliation. After a few seconds I run off stage and out of the building as fast as I can possibly can.
As I’m trying to catch my breath, I fail to see what catastrophic event has happened. I look up and stare in horror at the monstrosity of what has just occurred. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has transformed into Eddie Murphy. Everywhere, Eddie’s roam the Earth cracking humorless jokes and reciting unmemorable lines from movies that came out back when he was relevant. The world can barely handle one talentless, horrific Eddie Murphy let alone a whole world full of them!
I run home hoping that somehow this is all some horrible nightmare. I slam the door and turn on the T.V hoping that some trashy reality show is on to take my mind off of the day’s events. Instead I see ‘Breaking News!’ The film industry has come to an abrupt end. With no explanation, the film industry is over. No more new movies ever again! What am I supposed to do with my life?! The only thing that’s keeping me sane at this point is knowing that the Academy Awards are about to start. Finally, some light at the end of the dark tunnel that is this day. They get ready to announce Best Actor, the anticipation is killing me. “And the Oscar goes to…Eddie Murphy!!!”
